Senior Meal Site are tasty, nutritional meals that are available to all seniors
in the communities served.
The Older Americans Act Nutrition Program - July 2012
Meals are provided on a donation basis for people over 60.
Donations are essential to the continuation of the program, however, each person
is encouraged to give the amount they can comfortably donate. Home-delivered
meals are available, with a health care providers order, inside the city limits
of all meal sites. Services offered:

Program Requirements:
Any person over 60 years of age and their spouse may participate in the
nutrition program. All guests who do not meet these requirements must pay full
fee for the meal. The cost is posted at each site. All
participants of meal programs at the center, those who receive home-delivered
meals, and guests at the center must complete the required NAPIS form. The form
is simple, and the site manager will be gald to assist you in completing it.
A statement of need is required from a medical professional (physician or home
care provider) to receive home delivery.

How Can I Volunteer? There are a variety of ways
a person can volunteer at a senior site. There are volunteer jobs for persons of
all abilities! All volunteer assistance helps with assuring the program runs
smoothly and is a service to all of our seniors.

Activities:
Each site plans different activities to accommodate the needs and desires of the
people who attend each center. Activity calendars are prepared and posted
monthly and are available to take home. Activities are also listed on KNIA/KRLS
each morning when menus are read.
There are also clinics throughout the year for flu and pneumonia vaccinations,
routine foot care, blood sugar screenings, blood pressure screenings, and
cholesterol screenings.
