Historic Sites:

	Birthplace of the Iowa Flag 214 East Main Street Knoxville, IA 50219 A memorial to Dixie Cornell Gebhardt, creator of the Iowa flag, is located in the Marion County Courtyard. The original design for the Iowa flag is on display in the rotunda of the Marion County Courthouse.
	Klokkenspel Half block east of square on Franklin Street Pella, IA 50219 641-628-2626 Eight four-foot mechanical figures perform at regular intervals to the music of a 147-bell computer driven carillon. This is one of only a handful of animated musical clocks in the United States. Website
	Marion County Courthouse 214 East Main Street Knoxville, IA 50138 641-828-2231 The current Marion County Courthouse was built in 1896 in the Richardson Romanesque style from Berea limestone. The Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
	Marysville Covered Bridge Marion County Park, Willets Drive Knoxville, IA 50138 641-828-2213 This 1891 wooden covered bridge features crisscrossed planks on the sides called a “town lattice truss.”
