Marion County, Iowa - Budget Information
Marion County government operates
on a Fiscal Year that begins on July 1st of each year and ends on June 30th of
the following calendar year. As part of the budgetary process the County
publishes the proposed budgets in official newspapers, and now on this website
also, in an effort to keep the public informed. After publishing the proposed
budgets, public hearings are held to allow input from the public. While the
majority of county departments are funded as part of the Board of Supervisor's
County Budget, some departments (Assessor, Emergency Management, E911, and
Township Trustees) operate under their own separate budgets. These budgets will
be posted as available.
